In 1913, Steiff designed and built it's first Noah's Ark in
Giengen, Germany. This large animated display created a
sensation and was admired at many trade fairs and
exhibitions.
Since then, Steiff has recreated an extraordinary opportunity
to showcase the variety of unique animal species they have
made throughout the years. In 1994, a new Ark surfaced
and during the following four years, animal pairs were
introduced two by two and limited to 8,000 pairs of each.
The whole set was created by hand
in Germany by Steiff's expert craftsmen who have had many
years of experience.
