First Day of Issue Cover -- GUND Stamp and Envelope
On August 15th, 2002, GUND was honored when a USPS stamp
featuring an antique Gund bear was released at the American
Philatelic Society's Stamp Show in Atlantic City, NJ.
Bruce Raiffe, President of GUND, was invited to speak to
500 attendees and made a presentation while holding
Theodore, a Gund bear.
On August 15, 2002, the USPS issued a set of four stamps
commemorating four different American Teddy Bears and the
companies that produced them. Shown here is a genuine First
Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp depicting the Gund
Teddy Bear, cancelled from the city of issue
(Atlantic City, NJ) on the first day of issue.
